Both avid homebrewers with MBAs, LeAnn and Tara met after leaving their corporate jobs in tech and media to join the beer industry.
Working together on a daily basis, their passions quickly aligned and they realized a shared vision: to create a beer company and expand the craft beer market.
For years, they browsed beer aisles and visited breweries and saw that despite the growing interest in craft beer, many beers were in intimidating packaging, many breweries are casual and industrial, and most craft beer branding is targeted towards the existing market. Tara and LeAnn created TALEA to create "easy-drinking beers, perhaps to replace that glass of rosé" (Florence Fabricant, The New York Times). Our beers are at the intersection of high quality, low-bitterness, and fruit-forward flavors, creating beers that you can comfortably share with your hard-seltzer and cider drinking friends, or open with your most discerning beer fans.
Beyond their inclusive, intriguing packaging, TALEA brings an approachable, lifestyle-focused voice to beer. TALEA’s beers are “easy to love”: low bitterness, fruit flavor-forward and inspired by life’s everyday celebrations.
Tara and LeAnn began developing TALEA only three months after knowing each other and have spent countless evenings, weekends, and “lunch dates” to bring TALEA to the market. In January 2019, Johnny Osborne joined as Head Brewer - bringing years of beer production and operations experience to the team.
TALEA's hazy and fruited sour beers are available across NYC and the Hamptons. The TALEA taproom will open in 2020, bringing an airy, light, and welcoming education-focused experience to NYC.
